Google Merchant Center rule change

Fix your small product images before Google's 500px rule

From 31 January 2027, Google rejects product images under 500 × 500 px. Scan your Shopify store free and fix the ones that fail.

Works with any public Shopify store. No login, no app install.

How it works

  1. 1

    Scan

Enter your store address. PixPass reads your public product feed and checks the size of every product image.

  2. 2

    See what fails

Every image narrower or shorter than 500 px is listed with its product, so you know exactly what Google will reject.

  3. 3

    Fix and upload

PixPass upscales each one to at least 800 px on the short side, right in your browser. Download, then replace them in Shopify.

FAQ

What exactly is Google changing?

From 31 January 2027, Google Merchant Center stops accepting product images smaller than 500 × 500 px. Products whose images fail can stop showing in Shopping ads and free listings.

Does PixPass need access to my Shopify admin?

No. The scan reads the same public product feed any visitor can see. Nothing is installed and you never share a password.

Will the fixed images look good?

PixPass uses high-quality Lanczos resampling with light sharpening, so small images become clean and usable. It can't add detail that was never in the photo, so very tiny images are best replaced with a new photo when you have one.

How do I put the fixed images back on my store?

The CSV lists each product, the original image and the new filename. In Shopify, open the product, upload the new image and remove the old one. Agencies often hand the ZIP and CSV to their VA.

Do you keep my images?

No. Images are processed inside your browser and never uploaded to us. The scan only asks your store for its public product list.
