Hire — Freelance Shopify developer · Riyadh · Saudi Arabia

Shopify developer for Saudi brands,
built fast from day one.

I'm Inshaal Shahid, a freelance Shopify developer working remotely with brands in Riyadh and across Saudi Arabia. I build Arabic and English stores with the payments Saudi shoppers expect (mada, Apple Pay, Tabby and Tamara), ZATCA e-invoicing through an app, and a theme that stays light on mobile. Stores start from $600, with a fixed quote before work begins.

01 — Saudi essentials

What does a Saudi Shopify store need?

A store for Saudi shoppers needs more than a translated theme. These are the pieces I plan in from the start:

  • mada and Apple Pay. Shopify Payments isn't offered in Saudi Arabia, so cards and wallets run through a Saudi gateway's Shopify app. Tap's Native Checkout app, for example, lists mada, Apple Pay, Visa and Mastercard inside Shopify's checkout. Which methods you get depends on the gateway and your merchant account.
  • Tabby and Tamara. Both have official Shopify payment apps for KSA, plus instalment messages for product and cart pages that I style to match your theme.
  • ZATCA e-invoicing. Shopify's own invoices aren't built for Phase 2, so this is done with a ZATCA e-invoicing app from the Shopify App Store that signs and reports each invoice with a QR code. Your accountant should confirm the app fits your Phase 2 wave.
  • 15% VAT set up in Shopify's tax settings, with prices shown in SAR.
  • Arabic RTL first, not an afterthought: mirrored layouts, Arabic typography and an English version through Shopify's languages.
  • Cash on delivery as a manual payment method, with clear COD rules at checkout.

02 — Speed on mobile

How do you keep a Saudi store fast on mobile?

Most Saudi shoppers browse on phones, and Arabic stores get heavy quickly. I keep the theme light from the first commit:

  • Arabic web fonts subset to the characters and weights you actually use, hosted with the theme and the main one preloaded
  • Marketing pixels (Snap, TikTok, Meta, Google) loaded through Shopify's customer events, not pasted into the theme
  • Images in WebP, sized per screen and lazy-loaded below the fold
  • Only the apps you need, with scripts deferred so the first screen appears quickly

Already slow? My speed optimisation service fixes existing stores and gives you before and after PageSpeed scores.

03 — Services

What can you do for my Saudi store?

  • New Shopify store: theme setup and customisation, Arabic and English, Saudi payments, shipping and apps.
  • Migration from Salla or Zid: products, collections and pages moved to Shopify, with redirects from your old URLs so you keep your search traffic.
  • Speed fix: app bloat, theme scripts, fonts and images cleaned up on an existing store.
  • Automation: WhatsApp order updates or COD confirmation through n8n automation.

04 — Pricing

How much does a Saudi Shopify store cost?

Starting prices in USD, the same as on my service pages. You get a fixed quote after a short call, before any work begins.

I work from Karachi (PKT, UTC+5), and Saudi Arabia is 2 hours behind, so your whole working day overlaps with mine. We talk on WhatsApp, I reply within 24 hours, and you get a live preview link with progress updates every few days. Payment and gateway accounts (Tap, Tabby, Tamara, your ZATCA app) are opened in your business's name; I connect and test them.

Twenty2 Nutrition

A US brand selling supplements, protein and women's activewear. As a freelance project I built its storefront on Shopify's Dawn theme with custom Liquid sections, and wired in Seal Subscriptions, UpCart, Judge.me, Smile.io and Klaviyo, styled to match the brand.

07 — FAQ

Questions, answered.

Salla and Zid are Saudi platforms with local payments and shipping built in, which makes them quick to start. Shopify gives you far more control over the theme, a much larger app ecosystem and an easier path to selling outside Saudi Arabia, but payments run through a Saudi gateway app because Shopify Payments isn't available in KSA. If you want a custom, fast brand store or plan to sell across the Gulf, Shopify is usually the better fit.

Yes, through an app. Several ZATCA e-invoicing apps on the Shopify App Store create a Phase 2 invoice for each paid order, sign it, report it to ZATCA's Fatoora platform and add the QR code. I install and test the app you choose; your accountant should confirm it covers your Phase 2 requirements.

Yes. I build the theme RTL-ready so the Arabic version is properly mirrored, with Arabic fonts and spacing that read well, and add English through Shopify's languages so customers can switch.

Most stores take about 2–3 weeks from approved design to launch. A store with automation built in, such as WhatsApp order confirmations, takes about 3–4 weeks. You get the exact timeline with your fixed quote.

Yes. Speed optimisation starts from $80 and usually takes 2–4 working days: images, fonts, app scripts and caching, with before and after PageSpeed scores so you can see what changed.

Yes. I work remotely from Karachi, which is 2 hours ahead of Riyadh, so our working days overlap. We talk on WhatsApp and you get a live preview link as the build progresses.
